Happy Halloween
Another halloween over so soon. We closed the road and the Milwaukie Police Cadets had 2 cars at each roadblock. The street was empty of cars but at the highpoint of the evening there must have been 200 people in the street. One neighbor said in the 18yrs he has lived here he has never seen so many people in the street.
The MHS Dancers had a blast performing every 20 minutes or so and then "creeping" around the fence giving everyone the willies.

A couple of hearses from Portland Crusiers came by and parked on the street for a while. That attracted a lot of attention.

Someone hand me a glove I feel like DANCING!
The open house this Sunday was a HUGE success. The Milwaukie High School Dance team did a FANTASTIC job performing their routine in the yard.
Thanks to Matt Huntley from Scream at the Beach, for doing makeup for all the dancers.
Thanks to everyone in our community who helped us raise money for the dance team.

The Graveyard was robbed!
The hearse driver we setup on friday and then adjusted on Saturday was stolen early Sunday Morning. The display ran until 11:30pm and we went in the house about 12am. We were up till 1:30am. So sometime in the middle of the night someone jumped the fence on the JCB side of the house and grabed the driver seat and all and ran off with him. Nothing else was taken and no damage was done to the hearse or anything else.
The driver had a tophat, tails coat, tuxedo shirt and pants. He was tie-wraped to a piece of 2" pink foam shapped as a seat and then wraped in Faux leather. The seat was just sitting on the hearse and we had a couple of screws through his toes to hold his feet in place. It would have been easy to grab him since he wasn't secured
Other than finding out about this this morning and talking to the police, Yesterday was a great day. We had lots of vistors and we got the rest of the details up and running.

We made it!
With a big crew on Saturday we setup the cathedral and graveyard in record time. We started at about 10am and finished about 7pm. We got all the hard stuff up before the rains on sunday. Although Sunday was wet we managed to get a few more things done before we finshed for the day. The lights are up so people can see the display at night.
Thanks to everyone that helped. We couldn't have done it without you.

Last work weekend
We made a list of what "had" to get done. We worked real hard all weekend and with a little help from some friends. We pretty much completed our list.
The guards for the alcoves turned out pretty good.
We (ok, Karen, Chris, and Jen) painted a LOT of stuff black.
The new mud men turned out nice.
We finished a few things for the Bishops (thanks Preston for our Hearse Frame, brackets, and tombstone templates).
But the best part was that we FINISHED the Hearse! We have to put the plexiglass in and set it on its frame but the detailing is done.

Halloween 2007 is coming!
We are going to be on FearNet
We had a film crew come by on Tuesday afternoon to interview us and our crew. Our display has been chosen by FearNet.com the horror movie on-demand website for Comcast. They are doing a series on home haunters for the Halloween season in October. I think the segments will be available on their website next month?
We will let you know more when we do.
