Post Halloween

Halloween is over and the display has been taken down.  The yard looks normal once again.  Always a sad time of year before the holiday season begins.

First full night of effects

This past weekend was wonderful weather and the effects ran without issue each night.   The display is looking good.  We are looking forward to our open house next Sunday.

The Graveyard is setup for 2012

We spent all day Friday getting ready for setup and then spent all day Saturday with a great group of volunteers setting up.  We finished the details on Sunday and are pretty much ready for a week of lights only viewing.  We just have to get the rest of the details ready for effects on Friday night.

Last Tombstone Workshop of the year

We had our last workshop on Saturday morning.  We had a full class with over 12 students making 10 tombstones.   It was a blast as always and all the tombstones came out great!

Mourner Workshop Weekend

We had 12 students make 6 mourner monuments this weekend.  Each pair of students worked on a single monument.  We had prebuilt the basic wood frame for each of them to start with.  On Saturday they glued all the foam to the base and added chicken wire and bubble wrap to the the main frame and then using monster mud worked with cotton sheets to make the shroud.  They came back late sunday and painted them and then took a long lunch break and then returned and detail painted them and aged them.  They all turned out fantastic.
